About this deal

The photos were taken with a very old manual camera (Pentax KX from the 70s) so they don't look as sharp and contrast (due to the old lens). Whether you're shooting landscapes, portraits, or everyday moments, Ektar medium format film will bring your photos to life with its stunning colour reproduction and excellent exposure latitude.

The important thing to know about Print Grain Index is that if it’s 25 or below, there’s no grain to see — the image would appear perfectly smooth. A lot of experience and mistakes and corrections to really know how to get the most out of an emulsion. I love using Ektar too, great fine color film, but I usually don’t get such saturated results, the color balance is generally very good and subtle on all tones.Of course it is a matter of personal preference, but I generally prefer the Portra colours over Ektar. Even though this image was shot in bright daylight, it was still a high dynamic range photo given the positioning of the sun backlighting Mount Rainier. WRT film and airports: always keep the film in your handluggage, you should be fine if it is scanned no more than 5 times.

However, the print enlargements varied, and so did the negatives which the enlargements were made from.As I reviewed the pictures taken farther inland, I noticed Ektar always seems to render the sky beautifully.
