If I read those phrases once, I read them a shedload.

At first, Julian Masters comes across as an arrogant, self righteous and pompous idiot. A nearly 40 yr old widowed father of two children who is distant, cold and devoid of emotion. He is godly, good looking and alluring but so terribly damaged and grieving... but it’s not until later on in the story that the truth about his demeanour becomes clear. It’s not that he’s incapable of love, but that he’s scared of it. Scared of feeling, afraid of letting his guard down, worried about losing control. Heat level: Hot. They have some hot tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story. Brielle turned out to be a refreshing delight although I’ll admit at one point I felt it could have gone either way. Willow and Sammy were great. Julian blowing hot and cold had me going hot and cold on him. But ultimately this was a book I couldn’t put down. It completely won me over and I’m moving straight onto Mr. Spencer next. Brielle was great... when she wasn't being an absolute ditz. I liked her fun outlook on life and her connection with the kids. But, when she slid into ditz mode... ugh.

The H and h enter into a no-strings relationship/friends with benefits/ etc because they are sooooo attracted to each other and the sex scenes begin. There is a 13 years of age difference between the heroine (26) and the hero (39). His wife is dead and he has two children. She has never married.

So, that first 20%?
